Shireen Liane is the bastard son of no one, but her stepfather invented the KISS Army, & that’s more than good enough. Fell in love with the three minute pop song a la the Beatles & the Stones, & will break just about anything open, just to see what’s inside.
Shireen landed in London on her own at 19 from LA with a nothing but a demo tape and a Fender Telecaster. Since then she has been leader, songwriter, guitarist and lead vocals for Ms.45 (Splash Club) Slingbacks (Virgin UK) Lumiere Brothers (Freaky Kitty) & collabarations with Transatlantic Bunnies (Sympathy For The Record Industry). Shireen has appeared live with Teenage Fanclub and The Brian Jonestown Massacre and has worked with Mitch Easter. An active peace activist with more beautiful electric guitars and weird instruments than makes sense, Shireen is The SG6's secret weapon.
Having been known to call herself "a late 20th century California smart-ass." Shireen mastered in Poetics at a liberal humanities university in San Francisco. Her artistic work is often politically focused, dealing with the tensions between institutions, capital, and class, and the use/abuse of political symbols during events like elections, and the Trump Presidency. She expresses an interest in "prying these symbols loose from their nationalistic narrative, so that they may be more inclusive." Her work was featured at the Wide Awakes.
