Born on the bleak windy coast of the irish sea and brought up travelling europe in second hand cars and tents in the 1970's by a boat building, mountain climbing nuclear scientist, Mickey was a quiet kid who was supposed to go to university. Fortunately, at age 16 he found his first tribe of teenage rebels in a Cumbian dock town at the edge of the world who introduced him to all kinds of new and fascinating levels of adventure, counterculture, two stroke motorcycles, altered states and great music: The Velvet Underground, REM, The Doors, Kerouac, Bill Hicks were the cool stuff they talked and dreamed about in all night psychedelic council estate chemistry lessons..
It wasnt enough to just talk, so Mickey and Sploote loaded up a van full of amps and headed south, out of the mountains. Bands were formed in Manchester, Liverpool and London, record deals signed, tours and festivals played, albums released..and then..
If you want to know what happened next, the songs on the new double album tell the story.. full of actual real people and real life events, names changed to protect the insane, the guilty, the innocent and the dangerous, bizarre adventures and good times, love, life, death, joy and more than one prayer to the universe.
Mickey now lives off grid on an old 63ft barge on a secret island on a river near London, recording and rehearsing with the brilliant SG6. Mickey likes: Kesey, Hicks, Kerouac, Dylan, Knievel, Jesus, Bob Monroe, Rothko, MC5, Michaelangelo, Dali, Motorcycles, Motorhead, Caratacus, the sea, Cake, Racing cars, archaic techniques of exctasy and being inside neolithic stone circles.
Mickey is currently the host of the cult online radio show "The Sonic Gypsy Radio Show" broadcast weekly on Tapdetroit & Wild Dogs Radio USA
